WLAX-TV, a Fox affiliate that will air the game, planned to begin broadcasting a high definition signal Tuesday night, said station Manager Bob Weinstein.
Weinstein wasn’t sure exactly when the HD signal would be picked up by cable carriers, “but definitely by the Super Bowl.”
WLAX-TV is the last full-power station in the area to begin transmitting in high definition. For the past five years, since other area stations went digital, viewers have been asking when they could get the sharper picture — especially during football season, Weinstein said.
