The rules are as follows:
Recipes must contain two or more dairy products (eggs are not a dairy product.) Entrants must be
La Crosse County residents or members of La Crosse County Association of Home and Community Education, contest sponsor.
Only one entry per person. The recipe should be typed or written on 8.5-by-11-inch paper with name, address and phone number in the upper right hand corner.
Recipes must be received by May 16. Send to the University Extension Office, 400 Fourth St. N., La Crosse, WI 54601. Recipes become the property of the Dairy Recipe Contest Committee.
Recipes will be judged on appearance, nutritional value, ease of preparation, flavor, texture and economy. Judging will begin at 1:30 p.m. May 30 at West Salem Village Hall. Entries must be brought by 12:45 p.m. Late entries will receive an automatic 20-point deduction.
Contestants should bring entries ready to serve with crackers or chips. After the judging, the dips and spreads will be shared with the audience. Contest entrants receive free admission, and cost is $2 to others. Prizes will be awarded as follows: first, $30; second, $25; third, $20; fourth, $15; fifth, $10; sixth, $5.
