HOLMEN, Wis. — Donna Sue Benson, 61, of Holmen died at her home on Monday, May 5, 2008.
She was born in La Crosse on Nov. 23, 1946, to Robert J. and Neva (Oyer) Dolato. She married Charles W. Benson in La Crosse on Aug. 20, 1966.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Lisa (Florian) Litzinger of Minneapolis and Tracey (Matt) Kuehl of La Crosse; a son, Jeffrey (Lisa) Benson of Holmen; three grandchildren, Cassandra Jo Benson, Mason C. Benson and Keegan M. Kuehl; a sister, Lynda (Brian) Crees of St. Peters, Mo.; three brothers, Jim (Patricia), Roger and Daniel, all of La Crosse; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Donna had a tremendous love for her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 515 McHugh Road, Holmen. The Rev. Delbert Malin will officiate, and burial will be in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery, rural La Crosse. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 11 a.m until time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Loren C. Helwig
ARCADIA, Wis. — Loren C. Helwig, 81, of Arcadia died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
He was born July 8, 1926, in the town of Montana, Buffalo County, Wis., to Charles and Hilda (Schultz) Helwig. On Sept. 17, 1955, Loren married Delores Klonecki at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Arcadia. Loren was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Korea. He was a member
of Tickfer-Erickson American Legion Post 17 and was very proud of his military service. Loren worked as a truck driver for the A-G Co-op in Arcadia.
He is survived by his wife, Delores of Arcadia; four children, Beverly (Robert) Kennebeck of Shokopee, Minn., Michael (Elva) Helwig of Arcadia, Jean (Robert) Spitzer of Winona, Minn., and Carol (David Weber) Killian of Holmen, Wis.; four grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie (Lyle) Bloom of Gilmanton, Wis., and Shirley (Roger) Olson of Amery, Wis.; six brothers, Dale (Marlys) of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., Ronald (Edith) of Mondovi, Wis., Bob (Barbara) of Buffalo City, Wis., Kenneth (Mary) of Minneapolis, and Orville (Goldene) and Vilas (Rita), both of Waumandee, Wis.
Preceding Loren in death were his parents and one granddaughter.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, May 7, at Holy Family Parish, Arcadia, with Father Michael Klos officiating. Burial with military rites will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Arcadia. Friends may call from 9 to 10:15 a.m. today at Wozney-Killian Funeral Home, Arcadia.

Shirley A. Karl, 79, of La Crosse, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse.
She was born Sept. 19, 1928, in Sparta, Wis., to David and Elizabeth (Marx) Barker. She married Robert J. Karl on May 22, 1963, in Waukon, Iowa, and he preceded her in death April 1, 1994. Shirley enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Marty) Karl of Plymouth, Minn.; a brother, Hugh Barker of La Crescent, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Simone Barker of Augusta, Ga.; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gerald and David; a sister, Betty Ann Demorest; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Barker and Geraldine Barker.

Janet Evelyn Newberg
ONALASKA, Wis. — Janet Evelyn Newberg, 90, of Onalaska died Monday, May 5, 2008, at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse.
She was born in Muskegon, Mich., on March 3, 1918, to Leon and Lillian (Rinker) Tindall.
Janet graduated from Western Michigan University and married Marvin Newberg on Aug. 30, 1941. She taught in the Michigan Public School System for 20 years and was a longtime volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Senior Transportation.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin; three daughters, Nancy (Patrick) McCormick of Cincinnati, Ohio, Diane (Russell) Ford of La Crosse, and Carol (Joseph) Immermann of Mantorville, Minn.; nine grandchildren, Michael (Kristin) McCormick, Jennifer (Scott) McLachlan, Adam (Beth) Ford, Adriane (Christopher) Lepage, Andrew Ford, Garth Grawburg, Greta (Dave) Bishline, Claire Grawburg and Jordan Immermann; three great-grandchildren, Emily, Alex and Dillon; and a brother, Richard Tindall.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Althea Langdon; a brother, Dr. Leon Tindall; a daughter, Marilyn; and a granddaughter, Kelly Ann Ford.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials in memory of Janet may be given to Franciscan Skemp Medical Foundation or La Crosse Education Foundation. Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of Onalaska is assisting the family.
Lonny Margit Sophia Rosendahl
Lonny Rosendahl, 102, of La Crosse passed away Monday, May 5, 2008, at Bethany Riverside Care Center in La Crosse.
She was born in Sweden on Feb. 4, 1906, to Per and Hulda (Petersson) Johansson. She came to the United States at the age of 17, arriving in New York City before departing to Indiana to meet family. She met and married David Rosendahl in Chicago, and he preceded her in death in 1995. Lonny loved to cook and garden. She was known as the “social butterfly” of Bethany Riverside. She absolutely loved spending time with people.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Taebel; three grandchildren, Scott (Paula) Taebel of Mequon, Wis., Heidi (Ernest) Morris of La Crosse and David (Amy) Taebel of Stoughton, Wis.; and seven great-grandchildren, Zack, Grant, Kailey, Kelsey and Lukas Taebel, and Emily and Carly Morris.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David; and nine brothers and sisters.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bethany Riverside Chapel, La Crosse. The Rev. Duane Baardseth will officiate, and burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse. Family and friends may call at the chapel Friday from 1 p.m. until time of services.

Gladys Amelia Skaugh
BLAIR, Wis. — Gladys Amelia Skaugh, 102, of Blair died Monday, May 5, 2008, at Grand View Care Center in Blair.
Gladys was born on Sept. 6, 1905, in the town of Preston, rural Blair, to Gustave and Anna (Lyngen) Johnson. She married Ingeman Skaugh on March 20, 1929, by Pastor T.E. Sweger in the Zion Lutheran Church parsonage in Blair. Ingeman preceded Gladys in death Dec. 1, 1977.
Gladys and Ingeman farmed in Vosse Coulee. Gladys was a lifelong member of the Trempealeau Valley Lutheran Church in rural Taylor. She belonged to its WELCA and Eunice Circle. Gladys was very active in the church and was a great cook.
Gladys is survived by three children, Marvin (Donna) Skaugh, Beverly (Eldon) Quarne and Belinda (Jerome) Anderson, all of Blair; four grandsons, Mark (Willow) Anderson of Cameron, Wis., Dr. Scott (Anna) Anderson of Madison, Kevin (Kelley) Quarne of Roberts, Wis., and Brian (Nicole) Quarne of Loyal, Wis.; and eight great-grandchildren, Samuel and Gavin Anderson, Henry and Elsie Anderson, Jakob and Nicholas Quarne, and Nolan and Sydney Quarne.
In addition to her parents and husband, Gladys was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Waletske; and two brothers, Sanford and Carl Johnson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 9, at Trempealeau Valley Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery, both in rural Taylor, Wis. Pastor LaMoine Jacobs will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, May 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jack Funeral Home in Blair and also one hour prior to services at the church Friday.
Edward E. Teletzke Sr.
SPARTA, Wis. — Edward E. Teletzke Sr., 83, of Sparta died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center in Sparta.
He was born on Feb. 20, 1925, in Columbus, Wis., to Emil and Sena (Thiel) Teletzke. He grew up around the Columbus and Beaver Dam, Wis., areas. He served in the U.S. Navy from May 28, 1943, until being discharged Dec. 26, 1945.
Edward married the former Dorothy M. Motta on May 21, 1945, in New Port, R.I. After marriage, they moved to Beaver Dam. They lived in Fox Lake and Oshkosh, Wis., and moved to Sparta in 1965. Edward worked at the Wisconsin Child Center and then worked at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center until he retired. He was a painter his entire working career.
Edward was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and was a member of the VFW Post 2112 and the American Legion Post 100.
He is survived by his children, Patricia (Bruce) Hanke of Waupun, Wis., Joanne (Tom) Cleven of Genoa, Wis., and Edward Teletzke Jr. of Green Bay; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy, on Nov. 11, 2006; a grandson, Edward Teletzke III; and a great-grandson, Quinten Linde; a great-great-granddaughter, Serenity Andresen; four brothers, Alvin, Harry, Ervin and Wilbert; and two sisters, Clara and Minnie.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, with the Rev. Matthew E. Toso officiating. Burial with full military honors will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Highland Memory Gardens, rural Beaver Dam, Wis. CUBA CITY, Wis. — Lois M. Timmerman, 85, of Cuba City died peacefully surrounded by her children on Monday, May 5, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque (Iowa).
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Cuba City, with the Revs. David Flanagan and Bart Timmerman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cuba City, where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Lois was born March 31, 1923, in Ewen, Mich., the daughter of Einer V. and Eva (DeMolen) Jorgensen. She married Irenaeus J. “Fat” Timmerman on Jan. 25, 1945, in Sault St. Marie, Mich.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughter’s Court No. 4 and held many offices in that organization. Lois was a charter member and officer of the Southwest Wisconsin NAIM Group, the Cuba City VFW Auxiliary, a member of the St. Rose Council of Catholic Women, deanery treasurer for two years and chairwoman of Church Communities Commission for many years. She also delivered Meals on Wheels, was inspector for the voting polls in Cuba City and was a volunteer aide at St. Rose School and Church.
Lois is survived by four daughters, Sue (Mike) Hollenbeck of Stoddard, Wis., Sally (Greg) Cummins of Cuba City and Jill (Jerry) Brant and Lynn (Jeff) Hartl, both of Kieler, Wis.; four sons, Dave (Kathy) Timmerman of Benton, Wis., Tony (Marie) Timmerman of Dickeyville, Wis., Sam (Jean) Timmerman of Cuba City and Steve (Chris) Timmerman of Hazel Green, Wis.; a brother, James (Romana) Jorgensen of Champlin, Minn.; two sisters-in-law, Elma Jorgensen of Fayetteville, N.C., and Marian Timmerman of Dubuque, Iowa; 26 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, her parents, a brother and an infant granddaughter.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Andrea Ries and the Mercy Medical Center staff for their compassionate care, and to the Cuba City Rescue Squad.
