Published - Wednesday, May 07, 2008 Campbell board is out of touch Starting the second Tuesday in March, the Campbell board decided to hold only one meeting per month. The private sector, which recorded meetings to be aired on television, was also suspended. Those of you who watched the televised meetings should come in person and witness how your local government operates. We need new faces with independent thinking, as our elected official deserve your help. The Campbell administrator can handle town affairs. Some of the board members are simply “yes” followers and unable to think for themselves. They do not offer any guidance but are simply steered into making decisions. You can tell they did not do their homework and do not represent the Campbell taxpayers. Board members admitted they have less work since the administrator was hired. Indications show that our economy is shrinking, the American dollar is on the decline, gas prices are out of line, home heating is outrageous, your home is depreciating, food prices are on the rise and incomes are low. Some ways to cut include tabling costly projects. Cut the board from five to three members. Since your home has depreciated, the taxed valuation should decline. Use more of the county services and return zoning back to them. Taxpayers are stressed, so we need to curb expenses in Campbell. Our board is out of touch with its constituents.
