Doyle announced he is seeking applicants to take over when current Jackson County Circuit Judge Gerald Laabs ends his term in July.
Stutz, who ran unopposed in April, died after a lengthy bout with a rare form of cancer.
An applicant must be a member in good standing of the Bar of the State of Wisconsin and must reside in Jackson County at the time the appointment becomes effective, Doyle said.
Those interested may obtain an application form by contacting Rachel Allen, appointments director at judicial.appointments@wisconsin.gov.
Completed applications should be returned to Allen no later than Friday, May 23.
