We really love our moms
“Mom is the person I strive to be.”
That’s Krissy Nimmo talking about her mom, Cindy Hanson of Holmen, Wis.
Krissy, a fourth-year student at Viterbo University majoring in elementary education, said her mom has been there when-ever she needs her — to talk, for financial or emotional support, or just to do lunch. “She’s my best friend.”
And after years of being a single mom, Cindy met and married Jim Hanson, who also has become a friend and support system for Krissy.
When her mom sees the essay Krissy wrote about her, which will be published with other mom essays in Sunday’s Tribune, Krissy predicts, “She’ll be bawling.”
And that’s exactly the reaction Krissy is hoping to elicit. “She cries every show she watches.”
So get out the tissues, Mom. From the letters that have come pouring in, your efforts are greatly appreciated.
