Published - Monday, May 12, 2008 Burnsville man stabbed, house burned, car stolen BURNSVILLE, Minn. (AP) — Burnsville police are looking for two men who stabbed a resident several times, set his home on fire, and stole his car. Police say 53-year-old Paul Traub told them he did not know his attackers. Sgt. Daniel Carlson says the suspects may have been attracted to his home by his car parked in an open garage. He says the attack apparently began when the victim surprised the intruders. Traub is recovering at Hennepin County Medical Center. Investigators aren’t sure why the fires were set, other than to possibly cover the suspects’ tracks. Carlson says the fire caused substantial damage to Traub’s home, but other units in the fourplex don’t appear to be damaged. Traub’s car was found abandoned about five blocks away.
