One dead, one hurt in Independence crash
INDEPENDENCE, Wis. — A 24-year-old Independence man died early Saturday morning after he lost control of the vehicle he was driving through fog on River Valley Road in the town of Lincoln.
Wesley Gene Allen was thrown from the vehicle when it rolled, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a press release from the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Department. A female passenger was in critical but stable condition after being taken to Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, Wis., by Mayo One Helicopter.
The accident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s department.
