The southern stretch of the road should reopen by the end of the week, said Dale Merten, Wisconsin Department of Transportation project manager.
The span from Green Bay Street to Jackson Street has been closed since mid-March to replace curb and gutter, worn pavement, handicap ramps and drainage pipes.
The construction is part of a $4.5 million project to improve safety and ease congestion on the road.
Work is expected to be completed by Nov. 1.
