Gertrude C. Triebs
ELROY, Wis. Gertrude C. Triebs, 100, of Elroy passed away Friday, July 11, 2008, at Fairview Nursing Home in Mauston, Wis.
She was born on Aug. 5, 1907, to Albert and Annie (Westphal) Siekert at Dorset Ridge, Monroe County, Wis. She was united in marriage to Arthur Triebs on Oct. 18, 1941. They farmed near Elroy, and after retirement moved into Elroy in 1968. Arthur preceded her in death on June 13, 1975. Gertrude was active in the Zion Lutheran Church in Elroy, also serving with the Ladies Aid.
Survivors include her daughter, Arlene (Larry) Scoville of Necedah, Wis.; son, Gordon (Hollie) Triebs of Onalaska, Wis.; five grandchildren, Crysanthia (Bill) Miller, Karla (Jeremy) Randall, Michelle (David) Day, Clifford (Anna) Scoville and Nicole (John) Miller; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Arthur, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Marvin Triebs; two sisters, Helen Zinke and Ella Siekert; and two brothers, Herbert and Otto Siekert.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13, at Zion Lutheran Church in Elroy, with the Rev. Conrad Prell officiating. Burial will be in Elroy City Cemetery in Elroy. Friends may call at the church Sunday from noon until services.
