Wauwatosa police look for driver in hit-and-run

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (AP) — Wauwatosa police are looking for a driver who struck two 17-year-old girls, seriously injuring one of them.

Police say the girls were crossing a busy street in the Milwaukee suburb and were close to the curb when they were hit about 9 p.m. July 13.

Police say the car was a dark-colored, mid-size sedan or station wagon and may have a broken black, right-side mirror. They do not have a description of the driver.

Both girls were treated at a hospital and are recovering at home.

Larry Koszewski says his daughter, Liliana Koszewski, received the more serious injuries and he worries about her ability to compete as a pole vaulter for Wauwatosa West High School.

People with information on the crime can call Wauwatosa police at (414) 471-8430.
