Lanes closed on South Avenue near West Avenue

At 7 a.m. today, the inside lanes of the 2300 block of South Avenue in La Crosse will be closed to traffic. The closure, about 500 feet northwest of West Avenue, is for sewer work and is expected to last until Saturday.

La Crosse Traffic Engineer Matt Gallager recommends West Avenue between South Avenue and Green Bay Street as a detour.
The right-hand lane of southbound Copeland Avenue still is closed at Buchner Place and Causeway Boulevard. That lane is expected to reopen by Friday.

" It would sure help if the traffic lights would accommodate the construction areas. Sitting 6 blocks from work for 20 minutes
because of it is a waste of gas & time!! And NO, I can't walk
to work since I live in Tremp. Co. "
