Published - Thursday, August 07, 2008 ‘Slow Down' campaign kicks off La Crosse police and AAA Wisconsin are launching a “Slow Down” campaign today that aims at advising motorists to slow down and drive with caution as the school year approaches. To bring awareness to the roads, AAA is providing red and white yard signs that read “Slow Down, Watch for Kids” on one side and “Thanks for Slowing Down” on the opposite. Residents are encouraged to display the sign on lawns near schools and well-traveled routes to school. The signs are available at no cost and can be picked up at the La Crosse Police Department, 400 N. Fourth St., and all AAA Wisconsin offices.
