Outdoors listening session scheduled in La Crosse

OK, Wisconsin outdoors users, here’s your chance.

The conservation community, including more that 40 organizations ranging from the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters Institute to the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation to the River Alliance of Wisconsin, is seeking citizen input to determine what conservation issues to put on a “to-do” list for the next two-year legislative session.

During the last session, citizens were instrumental in picking key priorities, which included the Great Lakes Compact, the Stewardship Fund and the Hunter-Angler-Trapper Bill of Rights.

One of 11 Conservation Listening Sessions around that state is scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, in Auditorium A at the La Crosse Public Library.

Conservation Listening Sessions are open to the public and are hosted by the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters Institute. Members of conservation organizations and conservation-minded citizens are encouraged to attend.
