Landgraf's comment comes after Milwaukee's top election official referred 32 more voter registration workers to the district attorney's office for possible prosecution.
Election Commission Executive Director Sue Edman says that brings the total to 39 and the number could grow. Many of the workers are accused of turning in cards they filled out themselves.
All the workers work for two liberal-leaning groups running large voter registration drives in Milwaukee — the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now and Community Voters Project.
The two groups say they caught and fired the offending workers in most cases before the cards were given to the commission.
