Colorado’s Carrie Messner-Vickers and California’s Christian Hesch took home the titles at the second Grandma’s Minnesota Mile-Duluth.
Messner-Vickers ran the mile in 4 minutes, 43 seconds to beat the rest of the women in the field. Hesch finished in 4:10. Both won $1,250 in prize money.
In a smaller and shorter version of the marathon, 413 runners entered and 352 finished the race. The track took the runners on a downhill course through the city.
