I’ve gone muzzleloader deer hunting with my dad since I was 15. Although I did not agree with everything Eaton said, I do believe he is right to say that hunting can foster learning fundamental values in youth such as patience, fortitude and respect for nature.
I think if I hadn’t spent those countless hours in the below-zero temperatures in Minnesota’s woods, I wouldn’t look at frosted trees, deer tracks in the snow or the earth in general with the same appreciation that I do today.
