RACINE, Wis. (AP) — Police say two cashiers at a Racine grocery store have allowed friends and family to walk away with up to $35,000 in merchandise over the past several months.

The two female Pick ’n Save employees, both Racine residents, are accused of letting merchandise go by without scanning the items.
Police say one of the women would sometimes scan some items but void out the grocery sales.

Both women were arrested separately Tuesday and Wednesday, and police say one of them has admitted to the thefts.

Police say friends and family of the women have been benefiting from free store items since May.
