Janet Flynn’s painting called “Through the Eyes of John Muir” is valued at $12,000.
The DNR says the watercolor depicts the boyhood home of Sierra Club founder John Muir and illustrates many native plants and birds found on the property in Marquette County. The property is now a state natural area.
DNR conservation biologist Susan Foote-Martin says the agency will sell signed, limited edition prints of the painting, a poster of it and note cards featuring it to raise money for the endangered species program.
The large limited edition print costs $300 and a smaller one $150.
