Marilyn Jones will share her journey of “Depression and Inner Healing” with the women of Olivet Lutheran Church, 2100 Bainbridge St., French Island, at 7 p.m. Monday. There is no charge for the presentation in the church’s Fellowship Hall. Refreshments will follow.
The Year of Saint Paul celebration continues at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Christ Episcoal Church, 111 N. Ninth St. Continuing the journey will be the Rev. John Chagnon of St. Elias Orthodox Church. Refreshments will follow.
Muna Matar, a computer science professor from Bethlehem University in Palestine, will speak on “Daily Life in Bethlehem: The Israeli Occupation” from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Saint Mary’s University’s Salvi Lecture Hall (Room 335) in Saint Mary’s Hall, Winona, Minn.
“God’s Wisdom Honors Children” is the theme for Church Women United’s Human Rights Celebration 2008 at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Christ Episcopal Church, 111 N. Ninth St. A $5 brunch will be served. Reservations should be made by Wednesday by calling the church office at (608) 784-0697. Attendees are asked to bring a Christmas gift for residents of New Horizons women and children’s center.
A traditional candlight service will be at 6 p.m. Friday at historic 1874 former Big Creek Church located on the corner of Garden Avenue and Hwy. BC (north off Hwy. 16 between Bangor and Sparta). The service is open to the public. It will be followed by fellowship and refreshments.
