For awhile, it was beginning to look like Derrick Frost had the safest job in the National Football

League.
It only took general manager Ted Thompson and coach Mike McCarthy three months to figure out that Frost can’t punt in game situations.

I don’t know what special teams coach Mike Stock told Thompson or McCarthy, but they sure made a gross mistake by releasing Jon Ryan on Sept. 1 and signing Frost.

Stock, Thompson and McCarthy said Frost was a directional punter.

That he was. It was either left, right or line drive.

Thompson, McCarthy and Stock also agreed that Frost looked great in practice.

Unfortunately, games are what count.
