Elmhurst took a 30-18 halftime lead. Brandon Brown had 16 points, seven rebounds and three steals for UW-L.
“There’s not a big difference from where we’re at and where the top teams are at,” Eagles coach Ken Koelbl said. “It’s the ability to make plays on a consistent basis. We need to get over that hump.”
UW-River Falls 64, Viterbo 53
Jake Voeltz and Wade Guerin combined for 30 points and 12 rebounds as the Falcons outlasted the V-Hawks. UW-RF used a 19-2 run in the second half to pull away. Scott Buschman had 16 points and 12 rebounds for Viterbo and Eric Ambrose and Keith Rash each scored 11.

Freshman guard Tiffany Gregorich scored
14 points with five rebounds and four assists off the bench as the Falcons beat the cold-shooting V-Hawks. Viterbo hit 36 percent from the field. Junior Joni Stanek led the V-Hawks with 18 points. “We were not in sync at all. We got outrebounded, and that has not happened to us all season,” Viterbo coach Bobbi Vandenberg said.
