A group of news organizations, including The Associated Press, sued the state in September to allow exit pollsters to get within 100 feet of buildings where polling places are located.
U.S. District Judge Michael Davis later granted a temporary injunction allowing the pollsters to get close on Election Day. The resulting exit poll results were widely reported.
In court documents filed Thursday, the state said it received no reports that those pollsters caused any problems.
The documents filed jointly by the news organizations and the state asked the judge to put the case on ice to give Secretary of State Mark Ritchie time to try to change the law.
In addition to the AP, the media organizations were ABC, CNN, CBS, NBC and Fox News.
