NEWS TRACKER: County board expulsion hearing

.
WHAT WE KNEW: The La Crosse County Board was set to hear testimony Monday before deciding whether to expel Supervisor Robert “Bobby” Erickson for failing to live in the district he was elected to represent. Erickson’s residency has been questioned since he won the seat in April after a write-in campaign. The matter came to the board’s attention last month when a La Crosse resident said in a complaint to County Board Chairman Steve Doyle that Erickson lived in an apartment on the 1100 block of State Street from early June to early November, when he moved back into District 5.

WHAT’S NEW: The hearing has been delayed at the request of Erickson’s attorney, James Grenisen, who wanted more time to prepare, Doyle said.
WHAT’S NEXT: The hearing will be part of the board’s Dec. 18 meeting.

" It would seem more important/ relevant to know if Mr. Erickson now lives in the 5th district than if he temporarily resided outside the 5th by a few blocks. And why exactly is the county board listening to a "complaint" from a resident who himself does not live in the 5th district? How exactly has this non- resident, non constituent been harmed? Has the board heard from any of Erickson's constituents in the 5th who feel mislead or unhappy about this "issue" or is this all politics. I think to ask this question is to answer it. This has been a liberal political witch hunt from day one. Conservative Erickson's surprise write in victory has bugged Steve Doyle & company no end since April and they've been gunning for him ever since. "

" So tell me Mr. Slimey. What is the problem or problems?
Does he not attend his meetings?
If so, I don't believe this atrocity of a Kangarooo Court is the correct answer.
Is that what your are telling me?

That is a terrible excuse for this lynching. Talk about overkill, dangerous overkill.

Let me get this. We are usurping the Circuit Court to get him off the Board for missing meetings??? "

" O.K. Nestor, you have finally showed your true colors for all to see. We have to sit here and listen to you rant on and on about how you are not represented in the city council in your district. So Steve Doyle wants to move on expulsion of Bobby so that District 5 can have a person appointed to represent them at the county level. Why does your appointment carry more weight? The amount of meetings Bobby has attended are akin to not being there at all. Right now District 5 has "NO REPRESENTATION". You should be praising Doyle for doing at the county level what you can't at the city level. "

" A County Board, somehow confusingly using an investigation that was prepared initially by County Sheriffs for our County Circuit Court. While the case is still alive in a neighboring County, because we did a hand off to them of this case because we had to many 'conflicts' of interest? So now the 'County Board' is going to usurp the Circuit Court System with their own evidence in a Kangaroo Court run by Attorney/Chairman Doyle. Who conducts Family Divorce law in our fair town in a System that his wife is family Court Commissioner? By a Jury of County Board Supervisors that are overwhelmingly Democrat, to vote on a high profile Republican? You could not make this crap up! "
