Vera Lisowski
ARCADIA — Vera Lisowski, 83, of Arcadia died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at Tri-County Memorial Hospital in Whitehall.
She was born Nov. 2, 1925, in Arcadia to Michael and Anna (Suchla) Haines. On Oct. 1, 1946, Vera married Marcel Lisowski in Arcadia and together they farmed. He died March 27, 1993.
She was a member of Holy Family Parish in Arcadia and served as president of PCCW for many years. She was also the co-chairperson of the kitchen for the church’s Fall Festival and chairwoman of the Ag-Day Dinner. Her hobbies included baking, quilting and playing cards. She loved watching the Milwaukee Brewers, going on casino trips with her sisters, and especially attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Vera’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apples of her eye.
She is survived by four daughters, Betty (Tom) Schmidtknecht and Joan Lisowski, both of Cochrane, Wis., Judy (Randy) Piel of Fountain City, Wis., and Lori (Jay) Moe of Arcadia; a son, James (Julie) Lisowski of Arcadia; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Theresa Korpal and Bernice Slaby, both of Arcadia; and two brothers, Henry (Maryann) Haines of Winona, Minn., and Joe (Pat) Haines of Arcadia.
Preceding Vera in death were her parents; husband; an infant son; six brothers, Ray, Werner, Bernard, Severin, Jim and Ben Haines; and three sisters, Adeline, Lorraine and Mary Ann.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at Holy Family Parish, with the Rev. Michael Klos officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Arcadia.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Wozney-Killian Funeral Home, Arcadia, where there will be a 7 p.m. prayer service and a 7:30 p.m. rosary. Friends may also call from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Casket bearers will be Mitch Lisowski, Lance Lisowski, Cody Piel, Dale Slaby, Donnie Lisowski and Jim Kampa. Honorary bearers will be Vera’s granddaughters.

Earl D. Rybarczyk
PRAIRIE DU CHIEN — Earl D. Rybarczyk, 88, of Prairie du Chien passed away Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at Prairie Maison Care Center, Prairie du Chien.
He was born Nov. 14, 1920, in Black River Falls, son of John and Esther (Indahl) Rybarczyk. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II, transporting ammunition, personnel and the wounded. He married Marilyn Obmascher on Nov. 8, 1943, in West Salem. He and his brother, Sterlie, started out in the refrigeration business and later expanded into liquid propane distribution. He did this until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of the Campion Council Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marilyn Rybaczyk of Prairie du Chien; two sons, Dr. Douglas Rybarczyk of Oconto Falls, Wis., and Terrance Rybarczyk of Wayzata, Minn.; a daughter, Cheryl (John) Kramer of Eastman; six grandchildren, Curt (Angie) Kramer, Heidi Rybarczyk, Angie (Craig) Gasior, Gretchen Rybarczyk, Melissa (Terry) Slaght and John Rybarczyk; and three great-grandchildren, Josie, Sam and Karly Kramer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Sterlie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m. at St. Gabriels Catholic Church, Prairie du Chien. The Revs. Jerome Naduvathaniyil and Edmund Thome will be concelebrants. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Prairie du Chien.

ARCADIA — Florence J. Stanislawski, 91, of Arcadia died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Medical Center, Arcadia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, North Creek (rural Arcadia). Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
