The Eagles, ranked fifth in the NCAA Division III national coaches’ poll, scored four pins and four major decisions en route to the lopsided win.
UW-L’s defending national champion and top-ranked 285-pounder Dan Laurent finished off the match with a pin in 1 minute, 10 seconds. Fifth-ranked Matt Mauseth (149), Cory Ferguson (165) and Dan Schulte (174) also had pins.
Sixth-ranked Josh Zabel (184) added a major decision for the Eagles (6-0).
The Pioneers (1-2, 0-2 WIAC) were competing without their two nationally-ranked wrestlers, including third-ranked Jesse Milks (157) because of injuries.
