Heather Yahnke has opened Heavenly Crossroads Salon & Spa at 2835 Darling Court, in part of the building that houses the La Crosse Wellness Center on the city’s far North Side. The building is just south of Famous Dave’s restaurant.
The new salon and spa opened Dec. 6. “We are thinking about having a grand opening in April,” Yahnke said last week.
Her business offers haircuts for women, men and children, along with color services, highlights, wedding party services, makeup applications, waxing, massages, manicures and pedicures.
“I’m a cosmetologist,” Yahnke said. “I have been doing hair, waxing and nails for 11 years.” This is the first time she has owned her own salon and spa.
“I saw a need in our area for a relaxing salon and spa where individual stylists could rent a chair and be their own business owner with a nice, relaxing atmosphere,” Yahnke said.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and closed Sunday. Appointments are available but walk-ins also are welcome.
Heavenly Crossroads’ telephone number is 608-782-6882 and it is on Facebook.
Ryan Johnson opened his fourth B.A. Burrito Co. restaurant Nov. 29 at 208 College Drive in Decorah, Iowa.
The Onalaska resident also owns two B.A. Burrito restaurants in La Crosse and another in Onalaska. He created the B.A. Burrito brand and opened his first location in 2008 on Copeland Avenue in La Crosse.
Johnson said the restaurants serve both make-your-own and unique signature burritos and tacos, as well as nachos and salads.
Decorah seemed like a good location for his fourth B.A. Burrito, he said.
Johnson said he expects to open more B.A. Burrito locations within the next year. “We have a handful of sites that we’re evaluating right now,” he added.
The Decorah restaurant’s phone number is 563-387-9645. For more information, visit www.baburritoco.com.
Eric Stickney of Tomah plans to open an Anytime Fitness center in late March or early April in a new building his T2 Contracting LLC business is constructing in Sparta.
The fitness center will occupy about half of the building that Stickney is constructing at 2101 W. Wisconsin St., along Hwy. 16 on the west side of Sparta. Stickney said last week he’s looking for tenants for the pair of 2,500-square-foot suites that will occupy the rest of the building.
“I have a passion for fitness and like the Anytime Fitness brand,” said Stickney, who has a membership at the Anytime Fitness in Tomah. So he bought a franchise for the Sparta location.
Stickney said he plans to open a second Anytime Fitness center within a year after he opens the Sparta one, but isn’t ready to announce his second site.
Anytime Fitness has more than 3,000 locations.
