We are happy to announce a special guest, Mary Lou Egan, based in St. Paul, Minnesota. She teaches in the nationally-known shop, the Yarnery and at other shops and fiber festivals. As a designer, Mary Lou specializes in accessible projects simple enough for a less-experienced knitter to accomplish but that also give experienced knitters a chance to relax and knit: while waiting at the doctor's office, reading the subtitles in a movie, or hanging out with friends. This was the seed of her most recent book, “Drop Dead Easy Knits.”  Mary Lou is also an author of “Wearwithall: Knits for Your Life.” Her designs have appeared in Knitty, Craft Activism, and Shear Spirit. Her line of self-published patterns are sold at yarn stores nation-wide, as well as on Ravelry and Patternfish. She has also designed for Berocco, June Cashmere, and Juniper Moon Farm, and the late lamented Frog Tree

Yarns.Mary Lou will be speaking to our guild about her book, “Drop Dead Easy Knits.” The presentation will be a power point using the development of “Drop Dead Easy Knits” to discuss design, publishing, and what to look for in patterns. She will also be bringing samples of the knits in the book as well as copies of her book.
