The Mississippi Valley Conservancy’s is inviting the public to a guided hike along trails that are part of Onalaska’s Natural Lands Protection Program on Saturday, Nov. 4.
The event is part of the group’s “Linked to the Land” series of outdoor activities and the family-friendly hike starts at 10 a.m. at the Savannah Oaks trailhead on Clifford Road. From the top of the bluff, hikers will take in the views of the river valley. Hike leaders will show participants the various trails that lead to Greens Coulee Park.
Greens Coulee is at the center of the city’s land protection program area, which will eventually contain thousands of acres of protected natural lands that will be open to the public for outdoor recreation. The Conservancy has been a partner with the city in its land protection work since 2007.
