LA CROSSE/ONALASKA — Lorraine Dorothy Baum, 91, of La Crosse and formerly Onalaska passed away peacefully on June 13, 2013, at the Onalaska Care Center.
She was born Nov. 8, 1921, to Theodore and Ruth (Johnson) Torgerson. She married Oscar Carl Baum on Nov. 1, 1947.
Lorraine enjoyed gardening, baking breads, watching the news and mostly, spending time with family and friends at the Rainbow Cafe.
She is survived by her children, Gary Baum, Linda (Todd) Clark, David (Janet) Baum, Colette Baum; step-children, Imogene Greathouse, William (Bev) Baum, Carole Childers, Sandra Gantz; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Russell; sister-in-law, Lill Torgerson; special friends, Mary and Bill Lathrop; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers, Alvin Torgerson, Manley Torgerson, and Kenneth Torgerson.
The family would like to thank the care providers of the Onalaska Care Center and Mayo Clinic Health System.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 16 at Coulee Region Cremation Group, 133 Mason St., Onalaska. Pastor Ted Dewald will officiate with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Mormon Coulee Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
