DUNN - Clayton Wayne, 50, Hernando, passed away Dec. 23, 2006. For more than 25 years, he was a commercial and small business lender in the banking communities of Memphis and DeSoto county. Small Business Administration lending specialist for Strategy Financial, Memphis and a finance instructor for Rick Management Association (RMA.) and syndicated columnist for Memphis Business Journal. Community leader in DeSoto county, he served on DeSoto Literacy council Board of Directors, and Hernando YMCA Board. Past member of Southaven Rotary Club, Southaven-Horn Lake Chamber of Commerce, and charter member of DeSoto Leadership. Founding board member and treasurer of PULA (People United for Libraries in Africa.) A lifelong Methodist, he also attended services at Trinity Baptist Church in Southaven. Survived by wife, Patricia Lynn Dunn, Hernando; sons, Chris Dunn, Houston, Texas, and Ryan Dunn, Hernando; sister, Laurie Kalet, Marietta, Ga.; and brothers, Mark Dunn Albuquerque, N.M., and Mitchell Dunn, Memphis, Tenn. Retired from U.S. Navy as Chief Gunner's Mate after serving his country for 20 years. Fought in World War II and Korean War. Retired from Dover Elevator after 32 years of service. SZANYI - William Leo, 77, Byhalia, passed away at his home in Byhalia on Dec. 24, 2006. Born April 7, 1929, in Ogdensburg, N.J. Retired from United States Air Force as lieutenant colonel. During military career as a pilot, he received the Air Force Commendation Medal; Air Medal with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters; National Defense Service 6 Medal with one Bronze Star; Good Conduct Medal; Air Force Expeditionary Medal; Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars; Small Arms Expert Medal; and the Air Force Outstanding Service Award with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters. Founding member and director of TAC Tankers Association, LTD. Survived by wife of 21 years, Annella Shinault Szanyi, Byhalia; daughters, Roganne Sutsos, Sonoma, Calif. and Tonya Huddleston of Ripley, Miss.; son, John Szanyi, Sonoma, Calif.; sisters, Rose Dmytryck, Pennsylvania and Margaret Hendershot, New Jersey and four grandchildren.
