VIROQUA — Driftless Books and Music will celebrate the announcement of its spring performance season and the release of a compilation CD with a special event from 5 p.m. to 1 am. Friday, March 9, at the Viroqua American Legion’s Taphouse 138, 120 Rusk Ave. N.

The free event will have music throughout and kicks off with serving of traditional Irish stew and other food items. The performance schedule includes the following musicians:

  • 5 to 7 p.m.: Eddie Allen, Emma Nicholes, The Iowans, Stanton West
  • 7 to 10 p.m.: The Yellow-Bellied, Sapsuckers, Derek Ramnarace (Old Soul Society), The Medicine Brothers
  • 10 p.m.: Adam and Russ from Horseshoes and Hand Grenades
  • Midnight: Andrew Hughes

One of the goals of this event is to raise funds and friends for the 2018 Driftless Books Season of Music. The new Spring 2018 compilation CD will be available along with the spring season schedule. There will be active recruitment of members to the Wisconsin Roots Music Cooperative as well as a fundraising effort for the upcoming music season, which kicks off April 4 with the Alaska String Band and Stanton West.
