The Knast, a Seattle-based quartet specializing in a revved-up style of psychedelic retro rock, has a new album, "Reckless Soul," due for release on Sept. 8. You don't have to wait until then to get a taste, though, as the band has a video for the album's first single, "Situation Vacant."

The video has a stripped-down style that singer/guitarist AJ DeLange said he hoped would "capture the vibe of Beat Club, Top of the Pops and early MTV." Focusing on the band performing for the cameras, the video offers a feeling of intimacy with the band, which oozes a kind of swinging '60s swagger that perfectly accompanies the tune. Groovy!
