The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse will host Reed Music Studios’ 27th annual Honors Recitals on Sunday.

A large portion of the studio’s 400-plus students playing piano, strings, flute and guitar competed for spots in the recital, which will highlight the talents of dozens of young musicians. The state piano competition winners will be highlighted: Logan High School senior Ben Smith, Onalaska Middle School sixth-grader Lucas Go and fifth-grader Andre de La Rosa, a student at Holmen’s Prairie View Elementary.

The recitals will take place in the Annett Recital Hall in UW-L’s Center for the Arts, 333 N. 16th St., with instrumental and piano duet recitals starting at 1:30 p.m. and solo piano and state competition winner recitals starting at 4 p.m.

Both recitals are free and open to all. A pizza and cake reception will follow the recitals.
