Last summer, Misty Lown of Misty’s Dance Unlimited in Onalaska launched a digital edition of her new book, “One Small Yes: Small Decisions That Lead to Big Results.” Now, after 55,000 downloads on Amazon, the book is available in print, recently hitting the shelves of national bookstores.

In the book, published by Morgan James Publishing, Lown teaches readers how to overcome fears and other obstacles that are holding them back from following their true calling in life. It was written to help people who want to make an impact with their lives, but do not know how to start.

Lown recognizes that although everyone wants to live a life of significance, achieving the goals that he or she sets for himself or herself can be very difficult when unpredictable life events inevitably get in the way. “People need a fresh way of thinking when it comes to following these important goals in their lives, because the traditional calendars and goal-setting exercises that people use have not proven to be effective,” said Lown, the founder of More Than Just Great Dancing, an affiliation of dance studios that reaches 72,000 students.

“The biggest problem that keeps people from chasing their calling in life is not knowing where to start. ‘One Small Yes’ addresses that issue,” she added.

Barnes & Noble at the Valley View Mall will host a book signing from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13. The book is available at the store and through other online booksellers, in both hard cover and paperback.
