The Houston County Sheriff's Office is appealing for information on the whereabouts of Justin Farley Shoemaker, 30, of Caledonia, who is suspected of punching a woman in the face and then stealing her purse.
The sheriff's office used video footage and other evidence to identify Farley as the suspect, according to a news release that said the attack occurred in Sheldon Township.
The female victim told police she had just arrived home when she was approached by a suspect wearing a ski mask as she exited her vehicle. She said the suspect punched her in the face multiple times, knocking her the ground before stealing her purse and leaving the area in a dark colored vehicle.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Shoemaker on charges of felony robbery, assault, theft, stalking and illegal possession of a firearm and/or ammunition.
"It appears that this was an isolated incident as the suspect and victim are known to each other," the news release from the sheriff's office said.
Anyone with information on Shoemaker's whereabouts is asked by the Houston County Sheriff’s Office to call the tip line at (507) 725-5122. Callers can remain anonymous.
Shoemaker was living in the Caledonia area but is also known to have ties to the Rochester area, according to the sheriff's office.
