The Houston County Sheriff’s office made two arrests and seized meth, marijuana, a shotgun and a stun gun, after raiding a house in Caledonia last Wednesday.
Michael Steve Massman, 31, of Caledonia, and Bridgette Rae Blumenstein, 34, and also of Caledonia, were both taken into custody after the officers executed a search warrant at 409 E. Monroe St., Caledonia. A juvenile child was placed in the custody of family, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Deputies found 50.8 grams of suspected loose leaf marijuana, 19.6 grams of suspected meth, and multiple containers of suspected marijuana wax, at the house. Additionally, drug paraphernalia, along with items used in the manufacturing and distribution of narcotics, a functioning stun gun, and a shotgun were seized, the news release said.
Massman has been charged with six felony level counts related to the possession of a controlled substance, manufacturing, and distribution of controlled substance crimes.
Blumenstein has been charged with one count of gross misdemeanor fifth degree possession of a controlled substance and petty misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Both suspects will be arraigned in the Houston County District Court.
“This was the result of an investigation initiated by the Drug Task Force investigator and was excellent work by all involved,” Sheriff Inglett said in a statement. “It is particularly concerning that we are seeing marijuana wax in the amount seized in our area, as that is a potent and dangerous form of marijuana.”
The sheriff’s office was assisted in executing the search warrant by the South East Violent Crimes Enforcement Team and Caledonia Police Department.
