A 21-year-old La Crosse man was still in Houston County Jail Wednesday after guns, including one reported lost and one reported stolen, drugs and paraphernalia were found in the vehicle he was driving Sept. 25.
The Houston County Sheriff’s Office received information from the La Crosse Police Department that Bee Xiong, who had warrants out against him related to gang activity, was driving through La Crescent from the La Crosse area, according to a news release.
A Houston County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped the vehicle, which was occupied by four adult males, on Hwy. 44 near Indian Springs Road with help from the La Crescent Police Department.
Xiong was arrested on two Department of Correction warrants and one La Crosse County warrant. Law enforcement found multiple rounds of ammunition, eight handguns, .23 grams of methamphetamine, hypodermic needles, narcotics paraphernalia and alcohol. One of the handguns had been reported lost from Fort McCoy and another had been reported stolen from Vernon County, Wisconsin.
He was being held on charges of felon in possession of ammunition, controlled substance crime in the fifth degree, possession of hypodermic needles without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the news release.
Other weapons charges will likely be considered after further investigation, according to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office. Xiong has convictions in Wisconsin for manufacturing/delivering amphetamines, possession of methamphetamine and carrying a concealed weapon.
