La Crescent 5, Winona Cotter 1

LA CRESCENT — The Ramblers took the Lancers to overtime in their first matchup this season, but this time around it was all La Crescent. Isaac Peterson netted the first three goals of the match to earn a hat trick. The win assured a share of the Three Rivers Conference title for the Lancers, after they went 8-1-1 in their final 10 matches of the regular season.

Volleyball Southland def. La Crescent 3-2

ADAMS — After winning the first two sets in convincing fashion, the Lancers dropped the next two sets both by the score of 25-18, before losing the tiebreaker set.

Friday, Oct. 6 Girls soccer La Crescent 2, Winona Cotter 2

WINONA — Needing a win to secure a share of the Three River Conference championship, Breigh Bierman and Lola Baudek each scored for the Lancers in their final regular season match, but the Ramblers acted as the spoiler by scoring twice in the second half to knot the score.

Football Stewartville 14, La Crescent 0

LA CRESCENT — Accompanied by torrential downpour and a lightning delay, the Lancers lost their homecoming game by the smallest deficit of the season. La Crescent forced five fumbles in the contest played on waterlogged Earl Seaton Field, but were unable to recover any of them. Play was suspended because of lightning in the second quarter with the Tigers leading 12-0, and once play resumed, the Lancers surrendered their second safety of the game in the final quarter. The Lancers were able to muster only 83 total yards on offense, 78 of which came through the air. Brandon Larson led La Crescent’s offense with two receptions for 34 yards.

Tuesday, Oct. 10 Boys soccer MSHSL Section 1A Tournament — First round La Crescent 6, Winona Cotter 0

LA CRESCENT — The Lancers poured all six goals into the net within the first 25 minutes of the match, which advanced them to the second round of the postseason. Isaac Petersen scored twice, while Andy Lopez, Alex Boudreau, Russell Drye and Josh Weigel all added goals. Tanner Corcoran had two assists in the match.

Girls soccer MSHSL Section 1A Tournament — First round La Crescent 2, Caledonia 0

LA CRESCENT — Freshman forward Amanda Iverson tallied both goals for the Lancers to help La Crescent move onto the second round of the playoffs. Iverson scored in the 44th and 66th minute, off assists from Lindsey Nelson and Breigh Bierman.
