MSHSL Section 1A Tournament — Second round

Byron 1, La Crescent 0 (OT)

LA CRESCENT — With the bluffs as a backdrop, a tense playoff atmosphere set the stage as the Lancers and Bears battled through two scoreless halves of soccer. Despite a handful of close opportunities, La Crescent was unable to beat Byron for the third time this season. The Bears, who won only three games during the regular season, posted their second straight shutout, and won the match when Josh Robertson scored in the 95th minute. Mitch Dryden made six saves for the Lancers.

Girls Soccer

MSHSL Section 1A Tournament — Second round

Kasson-Mantorville 3, La Crescent 0

LA CRESCENT — Playing the later game of the evening, the girls team for the Lancers also came up short to continue their season. La Crescent put plenty of shots on goal, many of which came off the foot of freshman Amanda Iverson — but the Lancers were unable to get on the scoreboard against the Komets, who scored twice in the final half to seal their advancement in the tournament.

Friday, Oct. 13

Football

La Crescent 18, Lake City 0

LA CRESCENT — The Lancers were able to exhale a big sigh of relief in their second to last game, as they prevailed over Tigers to earn their first win of the season. La Crescent quarterback Zach Todd completed all eight of his passes, throwing for 106 yards and all three touchdowns. Brandon Larson, Thomas Kiesau and Dylan Worrell all had touchdown catches for the Lancers.

Volleyball

Wabasha-Kellogg def. La Crescent 3-1

LA CRESCENT — Ally Dahl had 21 assists, Chloe Walton tallied 11 assists, and Riley Barton had 7 kills for the Lancers, as they were only able to take a set from the Falcons.
