LA CRESCENT — Ava McCormick placed first on floor (8.525), second on vault (8.3), second on bars (7.1) and second all-around (29.725), as the Lancers dropped a close meet. New varsity gymnast Kiara Keip took second on beam with a score of 6.95.

La Crescent 67, Wabasha-Kellogg 56
WABASHA — The Lancers used a big first half en route to the win over the Falcons, and went into halftime with a 16-point lead. Zach Todd scored a team-high 21 points for La Crescent, while Luke Schwartzhoff (17) and Romy Whitford contributed double-figures in the victory on the road.

LA CRESCENT — The game was knotted at 40 with less than 10 seconds left in the second half, when La Crescent’s Rachel Ekker hit one of her two free throws at the line to put the Lancers up by one. But the Falcons answered with a deep inbound pass for a quick basket, to put Wabasha-Kellogg up 42-41 with three seconds remaining in the game. Harley Furlong lofted a shot at the buzzer for the Lancers, but it was off the mark. Ekker scored a team-high 11 points while Furlong contributed nine points in the loss.
LA CRESCENT — Lucas Wieser and Alex Boudreau each found the back of the net twice as the Lancers were able to snap their eight-game losing streak against the Spartans at home. Gavin Christianson stopped 22 shots in the win for La Crescent.

La Crescent 61, Chatfield 43
LA CRESCENT — The Lancers stormed out of the gate and took a 13-point lead into halftime on their way to defeating the Gophers. Thomas Kiesau led La Crescent in scoring with 13 points, while Ben Nelson scored 12. Luke Schwartzhoff (9), Zach Todd (8) and Romy Whitford (8) also made crucial point contributions in the win.
Chatfield 45, La Crescent 43
CHATFIELD — The Lancers fell in their second nail-biter in one week, after leading by one point at halftime and with one minute to go in the game against the Gophers. Kiley McQuinn scored a team-high 13 points for La Crescent, while Rachel Ekker scored 11.
