CALEDONIA — Katie Tornstrom drained six three-pointers in the first half for the Warriors, and the Lancers weren’t able to catch back up. The Lancers shot almost 70 percent from the free throw line in the game.

HOCKEY

Black River Falls 4, La Crescent 0

LA CRESCENT — The Tigers buried three first-period goals on their way to defeating the Lancers. Gavin Christianson stopped 34 shots, as La Crescent went 0-5 on the power play.

WRESTLING

Lewiston-Altura/Rushford-Peterson 46, La Crescent 27

LA CRESCENT — Bryce Duffy (113) won a 10-9 decision, while Will Kowalski (182), Zach Bolyard (195) and Colton (160) and Clayton (170) Jorgenson all won by pin for the Lancers, who ultimately fell to LARP in the meet.

LA CRESCENT — Jacob Hallback-Kettner netted both goals for La Crescent and Gavin Christanson stopped 46 shots, as the Lancers fell in the nonconference matchup.

BOYS BASKETBALL

La Crescent 60, Kingsland 53

LA CRESCENT — Senior guard Ben Nelson dropped 22 points, and sophomore Luke Schwartzhoff scored 13 to help the Lancers win their first game of the season. La Crescent trailed by seven at halftime and shot under 50 percent from the free throw line, but held Knights to just 15 points in the second half to earn the victory.

BOYS BASKETBALL

La Crescent 74, Winona Cotter 59

LA CRESCENT — Ben Nelson led the Lancers with 19 points, while Bryce Nolop and Romy Whitford each finished with eight, as La Crescent jumped to a 2-0 start to its season.

HOCKEY

West Salem 8, La Crescent 0

WEST SALEM — Alex Jackson found the back of the net four times for West Salem, while Matthew Bigley dished out four assists as the Panthers rolled to the conference win over the Lancers. UW-Madison commit Jack Gorniak finished the night with a goal and two assists. La Crescent goalie Gavin Christanson had 53 saves in the loss, while Adam Helgeson stopped seven shots for West Salem to earn the shutout.
