Permits for the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge furbearer trapping season will be issued at the following locations beginning Tuesday:

Winona District, 51 E. Fourth St., 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays.

La Crosse District, N5727 Hwy. Z, Onalaska, Wisconsin, 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays.

Trappers must possess a refuge permit and trap tags to trap furbearers on the refuge in the 2017-18 season.

Trappers who did not return their fur catch report for the 2016-17 seasons will not be issued a trapping permit this year. Visit www.fws.gov/refuge/upper_mississippi_river for information.
