MELROSE — Donna Mae (Busse) Kostohryz, 70, of Melrose passed away Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at Rolling Hills Nursing Home in Sparta. Donna had fought a life long battle with multiple sclerosis.

Donna was born to George and Hazel (Tessman) Busse, May 19, 1947. She was married to Thomas Peterson and had one daughter. Donna later married Robert Kostohryz, the love of her life, Dec. 16, 1972. They had two daughters. Donna was employed at the La Crosse Rubber Mills for a short period of time, until she was diagnosed with MS. Donna was a beautiful, hard working, loving person with a wonderful sense of humor. When able, she enjoyed working outside and watching old movie classics. Donna loved her children and grandchildren more than anything.

Donna is survived by her ex-husband, Robert Kostohryz; daughters, Karla Dearman (Brian), Kimberly Ransom (Ryan) and Kristen Swenson (Matt). Donna has five grandchildren, Kyle Kostohryz, Dylan and Derek Dearman and Kaleb and Macey Bills. She was also the proud great-grandmother of three, Ava Rae Kostohryz, Izabella (Kyle) Tondola and Azaleah Grace (Kaleb) Bills; a sister, Bonnie (Ray) Nortman; and a brother, Dwaine (Ruth) Busse.

A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the American Legion Hall in Melrose.
