JANESVILLE, Wis. — LuJean M. Bunderson, 86, a longtime resident of Janesville, passed away Wednesday morning, Nov. 29, 2017, at Cedar Crest in Janesville.
She was born Nov. 19, 1931, in Rice Lake, Wis., the daughter of the late Harry J. and Grace W. (Houser) Smith.
On Sept. 20, 1952, she married Donavan L. Bunderson in Alma Center, Wis. He preceded her in death Feb. 6, 2017.
LuJean was a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose.
She loved to travel, and after retiring she and Don would winter in Florida. She enjoyed listening to country music, working in her garden, her coffee hours with friends and family, was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed camping and bowling. She was a very good baker, and will be missed for the cookies she would make.
LuJean is survived by her three children, William (Gladys) Bunderson, of Millston, Gregory Bunderson and Ann (Andy) McGrath, both of Janesville; her daughter-in-law, Margaret “Maggie” Bunderson, of Janesville; her brother, Robert (Gloria) Smith, of West Salem; her five grandchildren, Bret (Maria) Bunderson, Adam (Courtney) Bunderson, Erik (Chelsey) Bunderson, Sam McGrath, and Max McGrath; her four beloved great-grandchildren, Donavan “Van” Bunderson, Caleb, Eloise and Emogene Bunderson; and by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven “Bundy” Bunderson; her great-granddaughter, Adeline Christine Bunderson; and by her brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Sara Smith.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1810 Kellogg Ave., with the Rev. Will Jewson officiating. Visitation will take place from 1 until 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at the church. A reception and luncheon will follow the services at the Janesville Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, 2701 Rockport Road, Janesville.
