BLACK RIVER FALLS — Ruth I. Huber, 88, of Black River Falls died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, at Pine View Care Center, under the care of Black River Memorial Hospice.

Ruth was born Sept. 12, 1929, in the town of Albion, to John and Ida Lillian (Hoem) Wyss. She was raised in the town of Albion and attended Black River Falls High School, graduating in 1947.

Ruth married Roger Huber Sept. 24, 1949, in Black River Falls. Together they farmed on the family homestead in the town of Irving and raised five children. Ruth worked at the Black River Falls Bank. She was a life time member of Little Norway Lutheran Church and active in the WELCA and the Deborah Circle. She was a member of homemakers, a dedicated mother, and farm wife. She worked on the farm, raised chickens and sold the eggs, all while raising the children.

In 1986, Roger and Ruth moved to Black River Falls. Ruth cared for her mother-in-law, Anna Huber, delivered ‘Meals on Wheels’, helped care for her mother, Lillian Wyss.

Ruth is survived by Kathleen (Charles) Bauman, Wisconsin; Julie Huber of Longwood, Fla.; Brian Huber (Shawn Olson-Callisto), Melros; Beth Huber, Woodbury, Minn.; and Christine (Todd) Gerdes, Black River Falls; grandson, Jarred (Lacy) of Viroqua; sister, Betty Thomas, of Black River Falls; brother, John (Wilma) Wyss of Arizona; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; her parents; a brother, LaVerne (Bud) Wyss; sister-in-law, Valerie Wyss; and brother-in-law, Mike Thomas.

Memorial services were 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at Little Norway Lutheran Church with Pastor Denise Anderson officiating. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery. Friends and family called from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church.
