The suspect in the killing of a Black River Falls woman is now in Jackson County custody.
No charges have been filed against 36-year-old Michael L. Harmon in connection with the shooting death of Angela M. Nelson, but he’s now being held in Jackson County Jail on a probation hold after being transported from Milwaukee June 26, according to Jackson County Sheriff Duane Waldera.
The homicide remains under investigation.
Harmon is the lone suspect in the death of Nelson, 34, who authorities recently revealed was killed by a single gunshot wound to the head and found dead in the bathtub of the Black River Falls apartment she shared with Harmon.
Nelson’s body was discovered June 9 at the 339 1/2 Chestnut St. residence, where she resided for a week and a half after moving to BRF from Sparta.
Authorities began searching for Harmon shortly after Nelson’s body was discovered, and he was arrested by Milwaukee police June 20.
Investigators haven’t released information obtained through interviews with Harmon conducted shortly after he was taken into custody.
They also haven’t released details of interviews with his 32-year-old ex-girlfriend Billie Jo Harwick, who was located after traveling with Harmon while he eluded arrest.
Harwick, who was found with her vehicle June 11, has been cooperative with authorities, according to investigator John Christophersen.
