Black River Country Bank goes bobbing for apples for Friends Sharing Food

Black River Country Bank President Bob Becker bobbed 13 apples Oct. 31, donating $50 for each apple to Friends Sharing Food.

Black River Country Bank President Bob Becker was a great sport during BRCB’s Bob’s Bobbing for Friends Sharing Food Event, held on Tuesday, Oct. 31 in Black River Country Bank’s Black River Falls Lobby.

For every apple Bob bobbed in 60 seconds, BRCB made a $50 contribution to Friends Sharing Food’s (FSF) Food for More Challenge matching campaign.

He was up for the challenge and surprised everyone by successfully bobbing 13 apples to give FSF $650.

Employees, directors and community friends also enthusiastically participated ahead of time in Bob’s Apple Bobbing Board by guessing how many apples they thought Bob would bob for Friends Sharing Food.

They raised an additional contribution of $334 with that and BRCB’s Employee Casual for a Cause Campaign for October.

Several members representing Friends Sharing Food were on-hand to cheer on Bob.

“We are delighted to help promote and support Friends Sharing Food throughout the year, but especially during their Food for More Challenge when each $1 contributed is matched for FSF with a pound of food for the folks in need in our very own community,” said Tracy Madvig of BRCB. “Through their various outreach programs, Friends Sharing Food fulfills a huge need in so many people’s lives and we are so fortunate to have them as a tremendous ‘vehicle’ for us to help others.”
