Time sure flies when you are having fun and doesn’t it seem like the summer is flying by faster than usual? Hubby’s theory is that once you get past the 4th of July, summer is basically shot. I don’t quite agree but it seemed like I blinked and this weekend was gone.

I see that the Hixton Fire Department has a new design for its uniform patches, which includes an eagle on them. Wow, this group has been around since 1936.
Exciting times for the youth of the Hixton/Northfield Lutheran parishes. The kids have returned from their mission trip, the end of vacation bible school and then right on over to Luther Bible Camp.

Congratulations to Daniel Hanson of Northfield and Taylor Lauren Gosz who were married in Fond du Lac on July 11. The groom’s parents are Gerald Lloyd Hanson and Karmen Beatrice Hanson and the bride’s parents are Jeffrey John Gosz and Maria Ann Gosz. The newlyweds have just moved to Stevens Point.
Jake Sweeney is in the Army now. His family recently saw him off to Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.
Carol Jarrett was part of a group of 25 from United Methodist Church who spent time packing food items for the Feed My Starving Children Project at the Tomah Fairgrounds.
New Hope Community Lutheran Church will have an ice cream social on Sunday, July 30. Worship service will be at 10 a.m. with special music by the Sanctuary Singers, with a free-will lunch following. It’s not just ice cream as there will be barbecues, salads and more from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 pm. Proceeds will be donated to missions.
