I find myself somewhere between stunned and perplexed at the number of citizens who say they "are not into politics" or "oh, I never vote". What you are admitting is you don't care who gets elected and passes laws that affect your life now and in the future.

You don't care that:

  • Your tax dollars get siphoned from small school district students like Black River Falls for the benefit of voucher (private) school students in bigger cities.
  • You have basic regulations on food and water so you aren't serving your family plates of pesticides and glasses of poisoned water.
  • The infrastructure plan for our roads is some hot patch crammed into the cracks and pot holes every couple years.
  • We have a President sitting in the Oval Office lining his pockets while he is picking yours.
  • We have elected officials trying to convince you that tax breaks for the one percent will bring you prosperity and eliminating the estate tax (death tax) will benefit you and your heirs.
  • You have health insurance with such high deductibles that a doctor visit, a lab test ....could cost week's paycheck. Catastrophic illness requires "Go Fund Me".
  • Your tax dollars are being given to a Chinese company to bring an unspecified number of jobs to our state at the tune of $3 billion, straight out of your pocket.

We cannot have a government "of the people, by the people, for the people if "we the people" do not get up, get out and VOTE.
